Whether you love road running, trail adventures, or muddy cross-country mornings, our club takes part in several friendly local leagues that welcome all abilities— no pressure, just participation and fun.
Joining in is a fantastic way to stay motivated, run with friends, and represent NAR in events across Hampshire and beyond.
There’s always someone to travel with, cheer you on, or share a post-race coffee and cake afterwards!
Here’s a quick overview of the leagues we take part in — each with its own page for full details, dates, and how to get involved:

Come along, wear your NAR colours, and be part of something brilliant. Because every finish line feels better when you’re crossing it with friends.
Netley Abbey Runners is part of the local running leagues, CC6 , HRRL & RR10, and we pay as a club to take part. To score league points, we must field a minimum team at each event.
4 runners are needed for a team (Ideally 4 men and 4 women)
Without this, the club scores no league points, even if NAR runners turn up
When we ask for a “team”, it’s simply to make sure Netley Abbey Runners is represented and our results count.
League runs are not about speed. Points are based on finishing positions, not pace — every finisher counts.
If you run steadily, are near the back, or are building confidence, you are just as important to the team as the fastest runners.
Turning up and supporting the club
Running as part of a team
Enjoying different events and routes
Wearing the NAR vest with pride
In short: we need people, not speed. If you turn up and finish, you’re helping the club
Netley Abbey Runners take part in several friendly race series across the year — from local road leagues to cross-country and our own club Grand Prix. There’s something for everyone, whatever your pace or goals.
