Weekly Run Information

The formal run sessions that Netley Abbey Runners hosts are designed to support runners of all abilities (once they can run 5k) and are split between social runs and formal training.  We have an all inclusive policy so regardless of the session, there will typically always be a run leader at the rear of the group to ensure no-one is left behind.

If you can not run 5k yet, we often offer Couch to 5k Courses throughout the year to get you to that standard so keep an eye out below.

Formal Club Runs (Lead by Run Leaders): -

Monday Evenings (7:00 pm) - Pinnacle Performance Hamble -

Coached speed sessions adaptable to all abilities.

Tuesday Evenings (7:15 pm) - Meet at Abbey Hall (See details below) -

Groups are split according to pace and ability. An example of a typical Tuesday would be:

Group A - Run 10-12k at a faster pace (5:30/km or faster)

Group B - Run 6-8k at a slower pace

These sessions may be adapted depending on who is present and the needs that arise.

Wednesday Evenings (6:00  pm) - Location Varies Starting Point Will Be Confirmed Via Facebook.

Coached speed sessions adaptable to all abilities.

Wednesday Evenings (7:15 pm) - Meet at Abbey Hall (See details below) - Shorter Runs

This session is aimed at those wanting to improve speeds or distances after a break or injury.

These sessions may be adapted depending on who is present and the needs that arise.

This session is typically run around the Netley and Weston Shore areas.  The sessions are usually run on pavement but can move onto local trails in the Summer. Please make sure during GMT you have a body light or torch so you can clearly be seen.

{Please note that safety is a primary concern for all formal club runs.  Therefore, please take note of any special instructions the run leader gives at the start of the session.  If you have a niggle, or a condition that you think may affect your abilities, please advise the run leader at the start of the session.  When running at night, please ensure as a minimum that high visibility clothing or accessories are worn on the sessions.  A head/body torch is also strongly advised.
