The formal run sessions that Netley Abbey Runners hosts are designed to support runners of all abilities (once they can run 5k) and are split between social runs and formal training. We have an all inclusive policy so regardless of the session, there will typically always be a run leader at the rear of the group to ensure no-one is left behind.
If you can not run 5k yet, we often offer Couch to 5k Courses throughout the year to get you to that standard so keep an eye out below.
Saturday morning (9:00 am) - Royal Victoria Country Park
You will often find many Netley Abbey Runners at Royal Victoria Country Park taking part in the Park Run. This is a free 5k timed event and you will be surrounded by approximately 250 runners of all abilities. Just register once and turn up with your bar code. For more information, please visit www.parkrun.org.uk/netleyabbey/
Sunday morning (9:00 am) - Royal Victoria Country Park
If your juniors fancy themselves as a keen runner, bring them down to Junior Park Run at Royal Victoria Country Park. This is a free 2k timed event and they will be surrounded by approximately 70 runners of all abilities. Just register once and turn up with their bar code. For more information, please visit www.parkrun.org.uk/netleyabbey-juniors/
As well as the formal runs and Park Runs, you will often find NAR members out and about on social runs. Join our https://www.facebook.com/groups/netleyabbeyrunners/ to see if you can join them.
{Please note that safety is a primary concern for all formal club runs. Therefore, please take note of any special instructions the run leader gives at the start of the session. If you have a niggle, or a condition that you think may affect your abilities, please advise the run leader at the start of the session. When running at night, please ensure as a minimum that high visibility clothing or accessories are worn on the sessions. A head/body torch is also strongly advised.
